About the Facilities
Main Atrium Reading Area
Meem Library offers a variety of first and second floor study spaces which together are designed to accommodate up to half of the campus’s student body at any given time. Comfortable couches and chairs, hardwood study tables, private carrels, outside porches and balconies with chairs and tables and benches, and abundant natural light all provide a quiet and contemplative atmosphere for the reading, writing and reflection that are the core of our college’s academic programs.
Ault-Evers Room
The Ault-Evers Room, named after St. John’s College Board of Visitors and Governors members Bromwell Ault and Walter Evers, houses the library’s Special Collections. As the library’s formal room, it is also used for the college’s Senior and Graduate Oral Examinations. When not otherwise in use, it remains open for quiet study.
Classroom Space
Rooms 202/203 and 205/206 are located on the second floor of the library. These rooms are used intermittently for meetings and student tutoring, and when not in use remain available for group study on a first come, first served basis.
The Southwest Room
The Southwest Room, located in the southwest corner of the library’s first floor, houses the circulating portion of the library’s Southwest collection, which gathers for ease of browsing all holdings bearing on the history, natural history, culture, literature, and art of New Mexico and the American Southwest. The Southwest Room also contains music listening stations and a DVD viewing station for use with the library’s circulating CDs and DVDs.
24-Hour Study Rooms/CAMPUS Bookstore
During the 2025 renovations of the Pritzker Student Center, the Santa Fe Campus Bookstore is temporarily sited in what are ordinarily the library’s two 24-hour Study Rooms, just inside the first-floor entrance. When those Study Rooms reopen for regular use, this page will be updated.
Restrooms
There are restrooms located on both the first and second floors of Meem Library.
Water Bottle Filling Stations
The Library has two Brita filtered water bottle filling stations, one near the lobby restrooms located just inside the first-floor entrance and another on the second floor, outside of Room 202/203.
